The Sudbury Water District would like to inform residents that wetland delineation activities will be conducted on private properties along Warren Road and Land’s End Lane in the coming weeks.
Why This Work Is Being Conducted
The District is working with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) on planned upgrades to the public water supply system. As part of this effort, we are preparing for any potential elevated concentrations of per‑ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at the four points of entry into our distribution system. To support these improvements, a new water pipeline is proposed within the roadway near the affected properties.
How This May Affect Nearby Property Owners
Because the proposed pipeline will be located close to certain properties, it is necessary to identify and mark (delineate) any wetland resource areas along the project route.
What Residents Can Expect
Wetland boundary delineations will be conducted by qualified field staff in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act.
- Work is scheduled for the first two weeks of May.
- All activities will be noninvasive and limited to field observations and the placement of temporary pink flagging.
- Most work will occur near the portions of properties closest to the roadway.
