Water Rate Increase: On Tuesday, January 24, 2023 the Board of Water Commissioners voted to approve a 6% increase to the water rates. The new rates take effect beginning with the February 2023 meter reading and corresponding read date forward and will be reflected on the Q4 statement for the billing period of February-May 2023.
A typical residential water users will see an overall increase of about $7.27 per quarter, or $29.10 per year. An average customer uses about 19,000 gallons of water per quarter. To avoid a significant rate increase, a careful effort was made to minimize the impact of inflation for the next fiscal year budget. The rate increase is primarily due to an increase in utilities, supplies and services utilized by the District. To minimize the impact to customers, help promote water conservation, and provide funding for the operations and maintenance of the water system, an inclining block strategy is used for determining the water rates.
The table below illustrates changes made from current water rates:
All outstanding funds and delinquent accounts are subject to disconnection of service for non-payment. When water service to any premises has been terminated, water service will be restored only after the termination fee together with the outstanding charge(s) have been fully satisfied by payment in full.
Note→ Maintaining the customer copy of your quarterly water statement(s) your most recent 8 successive quarters (2 years) eliminates the need of this report. Simply supply your septic inspector with copies of these invoices as proof of water usage.
