Sudbury Water District will be performing construction work in preparation for extending water mains and installing new fire hydrants at the end of each street listed below.  This work is necessary to improve water quality by having the ability to flush water from these dead-end mains and to increase fire protection on these streets.

PROJECT TIMELINE (weather permitting):
May 24 – July 14 (work on individual water mains (streets) is not anticipated to occupy more than 1 day)

CONSTRUCTION HOURS:
Monday-Friday, 7 am-3 pm

INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE:
Water will be turned off on individual streets for approximately 4-6 hours during the hours of 8 am-2 pm

ROAD CLOSURES:
Roads will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles.

NOTIFICATION:
Subscribers of the Town’s Emergency Notification System Smart911 used by the Town and District will be used to send messages to area homeowners within 24 hours of construction events on their street. You must be signed up for Smart911 to receive these notices.

  • Day One, Tuesday, 6/20: Water will be turned off on Willis Road from Hampshire Street to the Marlboro Road intersection (house numbers: 82-98 will be without water).  Water will also be turned off on Marlboro Road (house numbers 15-165 will be without water).  Craig Lane and Hamblin Lane will also be without water during this eight-hour period.Day One, Tuesday 6/20 Update: Water service on Pendleton Road, Crown Point road and Griffin Road will also be temporarily interrupted during the hours of 10: 30 am – 3 pm.
  • Day Two, Wednesday, 6/21: Water will be turned off on Willis Road from Hampshire Street to the Marlboro Road intersection (houses numbers: 111-235 will be without water).  Water will also be turned off on Marlboro Road (house numbers: 15-165 will be without water).
  • Day Three, Thursday, 6/22: Prep and pave trench
  • Day Four, Friday, 6/23: Rain day if needed.

ROAD CLOSURES:
All roads will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles but will be limited to one lane through the intersection of Marlboro Road at Willis Road. See detour map on page 3.  Please note that the detour will only be implemented in the event of a water main emergency.
